Itinerary

Suggested itinerary: Starting from the designated meeting point, visit Sha Tau Kok Restricted Area and Tai Po. Approximately 7–8 hours for the day.

09:00 Meet-up: Meet at the designated point and travel to Sha Tau Kok.

10:00 Sha Tau Kok Restricted Area: Visit several notable spots in the restricted area with a professional guide.

12:45 Lunch: Enjoy a group lunch at Sha Tau Kok Farm, take part in a workshop, and have time to chat and rest.

14:00 Hong Kong Railway Museum: Return to Tai Po by coach and visit the museum to learn about Hong Kong’s railway heritage.

15:00 Tai Mei Tuk: Enjoy the scenery of Plover Cove Reservoir and learn about the history of Tai Mei Tuk.

16:00 Return: Travel back to the meeting point.

17:00 Tour ends: Disperse at the meeting point.

Sha Tau Kok Farm (DIY Chinese tea cake workshop included)

Hakka poon choi: braised pork belly, tomato prawns, shiitake mushrooms in oyster sauce, roast duck, free-range chicken, lotus root, crispy pork skin, radish, seasonal vegetables, fish balls, water chestnuts, lettuce wraps and unlimited rice. One pot serves 10 people.

Attractions

Sha Tau Kok Restricted Area: Once one of Hong Kong’s most mysterious border areas, it has gradually opened in recent years and become a popular destination for in-depth local tours.

Sha Tau Kok Farm: Located outside the restricted area, this large green site combines ecological conservation, organic farming and leisure activities.

Hong Kong Railway Museum: An open-air museum in the centre of Tai Po Market, converted from the former Tai Po Market Railway Station.

Tai Mei Tuk and Plover Cove Reservoir: A popular place to get away from the city and enjoy outdoor activities, with Plover Cove Reservoir as its central landscape.

We can assist with applications for restricted-area permits. Visitors must provide valid documents for the Sha Tau Kok permit application: 1. Chinese and English names (printed clearly); 2. A copy of identity documents (if the copy is marked “copy”, please add the word in a blank area). Personal information provided will be destroyed after the tour.

Included: Coach, meals (lunch/dinner) and admission fees required by the itinerary.

Not included: Fees for additional accompanying staff (if any) and insurance.

Guests must hold valid comprehensive travel insurance. You may purchase travel insurance through our company (Ping An) or provide proof of valid coverage. Please check the insurance arrangements and coverage stated in the quotation when confirming the itinerary. You may arrange suitable insurance separately for personal needs.

This is a suggested private-group route. Departure date, meeting point, transport, attractions and meals are subject to the itinerary and quotation confirmed by both parties.

If the Hong Kong Observatory issues Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, or a Black Rainstorm Warning, within two hours before departure, the tour will be cancelled. Please contact us on the next working day after the original departure date to discuss rescheduling.
